Readers Respond: Which Figure Skaters Will Make the 2010 Olympic US Figure Skating Team?

By , About.com Guide

Due to the new judging system for figure skating, there is no way anyone can really predict which U.S. figure skaters will qualify for the Vancouver Olympics in 2010, but certain figure skaters may qualify. Which figure skaters do you think will qualify for the 2010 Olympic US Figure Skating Team?

2010 Olympics

Johnny is ready for the move, and if not for injury Maddie Haggerty carries the stars and stripes to a silver.

women's

I think Sasha Cohen is a little full of herself if she thinks she can just come into one competition and win an Olympic berth. She's completely discrediting everyone else's hard work for the last three years while she has attempted to embark on an acting career. She has a history of choking. I'd like to see Ashley Wagner go and maybe Rachael Flatt or Mirai Nagasu. Go Caydee and Jeremy!!! The men's performances were also amazing!!

Michelle Kwan

In women's skating the domination of the U.S. ended with Michelle Kwan's retirement ... without question the greatest skater of all time. Alissa Czisny probably gives us our best chance to medal. Please, no Sasha! At the risk of being branded a traitor, I will be cheering for Kim Nu-Na. On and off the ice, the closest thing we have seen to Michelle in terms of beauty, skill, and most importantly, class.

Weir is Wonderful

Skating doesn't like the avant garde, but I've followed skaters over 40 years, and I always like the odd ones like Phillippe Candolero, and now Johnny Weir. He's the only one with any grace and spirit, anything special.

Michelle Kwan

Where is Michelle Kwan at and will she skate this year and if not why? I thought she was coming back this year. She is the greatest skater of all.

who knows?

I think ladies should be chosen from those young people who have worked so hard recently, not those who have been there and NOT done that. Pairs, go Caydee and Jeremy!! Hard work and teamwork!! Men, Evan and Johnny should be the team.

US Olympic Team

Sasha Cohen and Ashley Wagner would be 2 very strong ladies. Rachel Flatt is good but she doesn't have any charisma or real crowd appeal and that would hurt her here. All the rest have performed miserably, although Mirai Nagasu has started to improve under Frank Carroll. Evan and Jeremy Abbott will snag the top men spots with maybe Johnnie coming in third.. Charlie and Meryl have done fanatastic in the last 2 years and they will definetely make the team with Tanith and Ben...As for pairs..Caydee Denny and her partner are electrifying and Rockne and his partner are very good too.. ..

dance team/ladies/men

We hope that Sasha cohen will be able to compete. We feel Davis & White are as good as Agosto & Belbin, and that Ryan Bradley is better than Evan Lycacek. We think the latter is over the hill- he does not have a quad, and other than jumps, he is boring, not as he used to be. If Sasca is in condition, she could beat anyone. As to men, Plushenko is unbeatable, but we give Bradley a chance.
