Kitty and Peter Carruthers won the silver medal at the 1984 Winter Olympic Games that took place in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia. They also won bronze at the 1982 World Figure Skating Championships. The Carruthers are also the 1981, 1982, 1983, and 1984 U.S. national pair skating champions.
Both Kitty and Peter were adopted as infants. They are not biological siblings. They began skating together as young children and won the hearts of Americans after winning silver at the 1984 Olympics.
