2003 US Figure Skating Bronze Medalist Ryan Jahnke:

Ryan Jahnke won the bronze medal at the U.S. National Figure Skating Championships in 2003. He was known for being able to do the Tano Triple Lutz (where he raised his left arm above his head), doing creative spins, and for being an elegant skater. He competed at the 2003 World Figure Skating Championships.

Date and Place of Birth:

Ryan was born on March 21, 1978 in Detroit, Michigan.

Family Life:

Jahnke grew up in Michigan. He moved to Colorado Springs in 1999 to train. Tashiana Foreman and Ryan Jahnke were married on June 1, 2002.

  • 1995 US National Junior Men's Bronze Medalist
  • 1996 US National Junior Men's Bronze Medalist
  • 2003 US National Senior Men's Bronze Medalist

Triple Jumps :

At the age of fourteen, Ryan landed a triple salchow. The other triple jumps came easily to Jahnke, but he did have some trouble with the triple axel. He was one of the few skaters who was able to do the Tano Triple Lutz.

Ryan's Coach:

Ryan Jahnke's coach was Diana Ronayne. She was his coach throughout his entire competitive figure skating career.

Strong Christian Faith:

Ryan Jahnke's Christian faith is very important to him. He and his wife teach a Sunday school class to people with special needs. He attends New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Ryan Jahnke - Figure Skating Coach:

Jahnke coaches figure skating in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He began teaching skating full time shortly after the 2006 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. He teaches freestyle, moves in the field, figures, and choreography. He also arranges music for skaters.

Choreographer:

Ryan was known for doing some of his own choreography. He did all his own exhibition program choreography, but Tom Dickson choreographed his competition programs. He now creates programs for young figure skaters.

Education and Other Accomplishments:

Ryan Jahnke attends the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs full-time and coaches figure skating full-time. He was also one of the athlete representatives on the U.S. Figure Skating Board of Directors in 2006.
