I wonder what Jackson Haines, who is considered the founder of modern figure skating, would think of today's current figure skating judging system and of triple and quadruple jumps? Would the ice dancers who did simple waltzes on ice in the past enjoy today's free dance? Would ice show stars such as Sonja Henie miss the big production numbers that are missing from Stars on Ice? And....would the figure skaters of yesteryear notice or mind that compulsory figures are no longer part of figure skating? ...read more
