POP STAR ON ICE is a behind-the-scenes portrait of figure skating champion
Johnny Weir. Viewers will first learn about how Johnny Weir started figure skating. (I heard that he roller skated in his basement and then practiced on ice skates in a frozen cornfield!) The film shows his quick rise to the top of the elite figure skating world, about his Olympic experience, and about his coaching change. I can't wait to see this documentary, but I'm going to have to wait. The film will debut in Seattle on May 24, 2009, and will eventually make it to the Sundance Channel.

Hi.
I’ve been a Johnny Weir fan ever since I first saw him, …with Shawn Rogers and Rusty Fein, at the Wissahikcon Summer Figure Skating Championships (now the Liberty Summer Figure Skating Championships) back in ‘98 or so. I would follow him regularly and regardless of his scoring I’d always enjoy his skating.
I’d love to see a documentary on him.

Johnny Weir is a great skater, it does not matter if he did not get an Olympic medal. He has charisma and can skate!
Hope he keeps on skating.
He bings the beauty from his soul,he is a strong man inside,he is champion in his own way.
