Joanne Vassallo Jamrosz, special to U.S. Figure Skating Online, has told a story that has warmed my heart. The story is about Brooklyn Ice, a free after-school program that makes figure skating available to children in Brooklyn, New York. The program's founder and director is Violet Eagan. Many young people that probably would not have ever skated, have had the chance to experience the joy of figure skating because of Eagan's efforts.
