Tai Babilonia and Randy Gardner,
Linda Fratianne,
Michelle Kwan, and
Debi Thomas are some of the world figure skating champions that represented the Los Angeles Figure Skating Club. In fact, over 100 national, world, and Olympic figure skaters have been part of the club's history. This weekend, the club is celebrating its 75th anniversary. Many of the figure skaters that represented the Los Angeles Figure Skating Club in the past and present will be attending the celebration. There will be a gala exhibition and show followed by a V.I.P. reception. One of the highlights will be a performance by the reigning U.S. Pair Skating Champions,
Keauna McLaughlin and Rockne Brubaker. There will also be a parade of champions.
I wish I could be there since the Los Angeles Figure Skating Club was "my club" when I was a child. Saturday night club sessions were very exciting since national, world and Olympic skaters practiced with young and upcoming figure skaters.
