How I Met Haley Gans
The first time I met Haley Gans was on the ice during the summer of 2007. I was teaching my children, Annabelle, Rebekah, and Joel, on a freestyle. We happened to say hello to Haley at the the music machine. Haley commented how great a skater Annabelle was! She was so sweet!
How Haley Gans Affected My Life
There are so many things Haley did that I remember. She took the time each day to hug my daughters. She always said hello at the rink. Her mother, Pat, was one of the favorite people I talked to at the rink. We had so much in common! The Gans family loved their children and Pat's love for Haley showed. I feel so fortunate to have been given a chance to get to know the Gans family.
Lessons Learned
- Haley taught me and my children many things.
- Haley was supportive of all skaters and was happy when others did great things.
- Haley's mother, Pat, told me once that when Haley competed in figure skating competitions, she felt she was competing with people, rather than against them.
- Haley passed hugs and smiles around every day.
- Haley Gans brought happiness and a light to the ice skating world.
