    All About Joylyn's Skating:

Joylyn began skating in 2001. She celebrated her sixth birthday with an ice skating party. Shortly after that birthday party, she began group lessons.

Later, Joylyn was able to participate in her first competition and began private lessons. Her first private lesson coach was Stephanie Han. She continued the private lessons after that competition and started to practice more on her own.

One Saturday morning while she practiced, she met ice dancers Kianoosh Samii and Molly Johnson. She have never seen anyone ice dance before that morning. What she saw really inspired her.

In 2003, Joylyn began skating at Ice Oasis in Redwood City, California. She began private lessons in Singles with Kitty Kelly-McGorryand and private Ice Dance lessons with Peter Sasmore.

Joylyn has worked hard. For two years, her schedule has been as follows:

Waking at 4:00 in the morning, arriving at the rink at about 5 AM, getting on the ice at 5:30 AM and skating until about 8:15 or 8:30 AM. She normally works on freestyle for two hours and one hour on ice dancing.

During the summer Joylyn trains for more hours.

Her goals are to compete in Ice Dancing and to continue to work on Free Skating tests.
