Broadmoor Skating Club - Home of Figure Skating Champions:
The Broadmoor Skating Club is one of the most famous and prestigious figure skating clubs in the United States. Many of the Broadmoor Skating Club's members have won medals at National, Olympic, and World figure skating events.
Location:
The Broadmoor Skating Club is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Its skaters train at the Colorado Springs World Arena Ice Hall, which is one of the major figure skating training centers in the world.
History:
The club was founded in 1939 and was originally called the Pikes Peak Skating Club. The club was the figure skating club associated with the Broadmoor World Arena which was an ice rink founded by Thayer Tutt, the owner of the Broadmoor Hotel. In 1994, the Broadmoor World Arena was torn down, so the club moved to the Colorado Springs World Arena.
Host of International and National Events:
The United States National Figure Skating Championships took place at the Broadmoor World Arena six times. The World Figure Skating Championships was hosted by the facility five times.
The Broadmoor Skating Club hosted those events. Other major events that have been hosted by the Broadmoor Skating Club include the Four Continents Championships, Junior Worlds, and Grand Prix of Figure Skating events. National synchronized figure skating events have also been hosted by the Broadmoor Skating Club.
Host of Other Ice Skating Competitions:
Every year, the club hosts one of the largest figure skating competitions in the United States called "The Broadmoor Open." The club also has hosted regional and sectional events. In addition, the State Games of America and the Ice Skating Institute's Worlds and Nationals has been held at the Colorado Springs World Arena.

The United States Olympic Training Center is located close to the Colorado Springs World Arena and the Broadmoor Skatng Club. Also, U.S. Figure Skating's Headquarters is in Colorado Springs. The World Figure Skating Museum and Hall of Fame ia located in the same building as U.S. Figure Skating. These facilities combined with Broadmoor Skating Club's presence in Colorado Springs makes the city a figure skating mecca.
