On February 24, 2007, Denver Synchronicity, an adult synchronized figure skating team, won the 2007 United States National Adult Synchronized Figure Skating title. This article tells a bit about some of Denver Synchronicity's members. The team members share about themselves and give comments about the experience of being synchronized figure skaters and champions.
Amanda Chaney Writes:
"Alicia has a very calming, yet motivational effect on the team. I think everyone really respects her skating ability (the only shame is that we don't see her skate more!) as well as her "synchro mind." She really has a talent for understanding the physics of synchro. She also has a great talent for choreography. She has the most positive attitude. I hear other coaches at competition who are yelling at their teams; and I always think "thank goodness Alicia doesn't do that." She tries to emphasize the positive and be constructive. This approach works really well with adults."
Andi Lindahl- Team Co-Captain Writes:
"Alicia is amazing. She has turned our team around both mentally and physically since she first stepped on the ice with us almost 3 years ago now. She has taken all of her experiences and taught them to us. For being so young, she is so professional, trustworthy and knowledgeable. She is always patient and poised on the ice and can work things out in her head to solve problems quickly. She challenges and encourages us, but she knows our limits. She is sensitive and thoughtful - she wrote us all these beautiful letters and read them to us before we went out to compete - it was great motivation. We are so lucky to have her and we all have nothing but the utmost respect for her and we love her so much. As one of our team members said - an angel has been sent to us."
