- Single Skating:
The most popular figure skating event at the Olympics is women's singles. A skater performs jumps, spins, footwork, and other skating moves to music. Men compete against men and women compete against women.
- Pair Skating:
Pair Skating is considered the most thrilling and athletic figure skating event at the Winter Olympics. A man and a woman skate together and perform jumps and spins both together as a pair and side by side in unison. The man lifts and throws the lady.
- Ice Dancing:
Ice dancing is similar to ballroom dancing, but is done on the ice. Olympic ice dancing events have three phases: the compulsory dance phase, the original dance phase, and the free dance phase. A man and a woman perform together.
