Guide Review - "Sonja Henie: Queen Of The Ice"
"Sonja Henie: Queen Of The Ice" is a documentary that gives a thorough account of Sonja Henie's life. The ups and downs are told. Most of the DVD is told in a depressing tone. The happy part of Henie's story is told at the beginning of the documentary, but as her life unfolds, viewers of this DVD will become quite sad. Things that were kept silent about Sonja Henie's life are revealed.
Excellent video clips and photos are shown in the DVD. Interviews with her friends and business associates will give viewers an idea of what Sonja Henie's life was like. A very solemn piece of music plays in the background throughout the film.
The DVD can be viewed in either English or French and includes a slide show of some of the best photos of Sonja Henie. The photos and video clips included are excellent.
Due to the solemn tone and length (112 minutes) of the documentary, "Sonja Henie: Queen Of The Ice" will not entertain or hold the attention spans of young audiences; however, adults interested in figure skating and its history will gain something by viewing the presentation.
