On Saturday, June 3, 2006 some ice skating families said "Good-Bye" to the place they "grew up" at.

The Ice Arena at Chapel Hills opened on June 18, 1998. That rink gave many people in Colorado so much hope and happiness.

Certain individuals helped build the program at that rink and it was very sad to see the rink close. Kids learned to skate there and many happy weekends were spent skating with children at the rink.

For years, children and adults of all ages enjoyed this beautiful mall rink. Many people who would have liked to try figure skating, won't get to now because this ice rink is gone. This rink was warm, so little children loved to skate there, so this means fewer young children will begin figure skating lessons in Colorado Springs.

Many people will remember their happy days of skating at the Chapel Hills Ice Rink. Many people are sad; yes, this ice rink will be missed.
