Definition: Most ice rinks offer group ice skating lessons, and part of most standard group figure skating lesson courses include the chance to take achievement skating skills tests. Some ice arenas offer Ice Skating Institute (ISI) tests. Skaters receive badges after passing these skating tests. Some of ISI's test levels are Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta badge tests.
One of the moves on the Gamma ISI test is a mohawk combination. The mohawk combination move is done in both the clockwise and counter-clockwise directions.
Examples:
There are seven steps in the Gamma test's mohawk combination. The skater first does three forward strokes, followed by a forward inside open mohawk. The mohawk is then followed by a back outside one-foot glide. The skater then steps and strokes forward onto a forward outside edge that is held for a short distance.
