Definition: The lunge is a figure skating move that resembles fencing posture. The ice skater bends his or her skating leg and places the inside of the boot of the free foot directly on the ice as he or she glides forward. The back should be kept straight and the skater's rear should be tucked in.
Examples: It is impossible to do a lunge on a curve; this move must be done in a straight line.

The lunge is a fun ice skating move.
