Definition: Dance lifts are done in free dance which is the most popular and entertaining part of ice dancing. Dance lifts are different than pair skating lifts because the man does not hold the lady high above his head and dance lifts are creative. Some dance lifts rotate; others move on straight lines or on curves. Stationary lifts are also permitted.
Also Known As: Ice Dancing Lifts
Examples: Olympic ice dancers, Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon of Canada, are known for doing creative dance lifts.
