Definition: The flying sit spin is similar to a sit spin, but the skater first jumps into the air and then lands in the sit spin position and completes a sit spin.

Figure skaters enter the flying sit spin with the same entry as a regular sit spin, but as soon as the skater begins the entry, he or she jumps in the air and bends the entry leg while extending the free leg forward in the sit spin position.

When a skater jumps high, the flying sit spin can be a dazzling ice skating move.

Also Known As: Flying Sit
Examples: A flying sit spin is a difficult, but spectacular, figure skating move.
