On Election Day, November 4, 2008, a map of the United States was scribed into the ice surface of the Rockefeller Center ice rink. During the day, skaters enjoyed ice skating over the map. Later that night, as the election results came in, the states were painted blue or red. This video shows people skating over the historical map.
