Barbie Smith placed 4th in the World Figure Skating Championships in 1977. Smith showed much promise and had a successful competitive skating career. She was the 1975 U.S. National Junior Ladies figure skating champion. She was also the silver medalist at the 1977 U.S. National Figure Skating Championships in the Championship Ladies division. This video shows her performance at the 1977 World Figure Skating Championships which took place in Tokyo, Japan.
