The Silver Blades book series is about five talented figure skaters: Nikki, Danielle, Tori, Jill, and Haley. They skate at Silver Blades which is one of the best skating facilities in the United States.

This series is very well written and may convince some young people to give ice skating a try. Some say that these books are the best fiction available about figure skating.

There are more than twenty-four books in this series. All of the books are easy to read.

Each book deals with a conflict that a certain skater in the group faces. The reader will get a chance to see true skating friends working together and helping one another in each book. The plots in each of the books are very realistic.

Although these books are geared towards female readers that are between ages nine and twelve, teens and adults will also enjoy reading these books. Boys usually enjoy reading these books since some stories of male skaters and coaches are included in each book.
