Janet Lynn was the United States National Figure Skating Champion from 1969 through 1973. She won an Olympic bronze medal in 1972. She is considered an ice skating legend.
On July 20, 2008, she gave a seminar in Colorado Springs and the Schneider-Farris family participated. In this photo, she took the time to pose with About.com's Figure Skating Guide Jo Ann Schneider Farris and with Rebekah and Joel Schneider-Farris.

- 'I decided to work hard at my own skating after I saw Janet Lynn perform an exhibition to the music "When You Wish Upon a Star" at the U.S. National Figure Skating Championships. I was not the only young figure skater to be motivated by her skating. Little girls everywhere tried hard to be like her.'
