Olympic and World Figure Skating Medalists:

Kitty and Peter Carruthers won the silver medal at the 1984 Winter Olympic Games that took place in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia. They also won bronze at the 1982 World Figure Skating Championships. The Carruthers are also the 1981, 1982, 1983, and 1984 U.S. national pair skating champions.

Kitty - Date and Place of Birth:

Caitlin A. "Kitty" Carruthers was born May 30, 1961 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Peter - Date and Place of Birth:

Peter W. Carruthers was born July 22, 1959 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Adoptees:

Both Kitty and Peter were adopted as infants. (They are not biological siblings.)

Parents:

Kitty and Peter were adopted by Charley and Maureen Carruthers of Burlington, Massachusetts.

Two Olympics:

The sister-brother pair competed in both the 1980 and the 1984 Olympics.

Professional Show Skating Career:

Following the 1984 Olympics, the team toured and starred with Ice Capades for five years.

US National Figure Skating Champions:

The Carruthers won four consecutive US national figure skating titles. They won the US pair skating title in 1981, 1982, 1983, and 1984.

Honors:

Kitty and Peter Carruthers were inducted into the Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 1999.

Peter Carruthers - Figure Skating Commentator:

Peter Carruthers is a well-known television figure skating commentator. He has worked for ABC Sports, ESPN, icenetwork, and Universal Sports. He also hosted the live broadcast for the 2011 U.S. Figure Skating movie RISE.
