British and World Ice Dance Champions Doreen Denny and Courtney Jones:

Doreen Denny (with ice dancer partner, Courtney Jones) is a two-time world ice dancing champion.

Coach of First Olympic Ice Dancers From the United States:

Denny was the coach of 1976 Olympic Bronze Ice Dance Medalists Colleen O'Connor and Jim Millns, the first ice dancers from the USA to compete in ice dancing at the Olympic Winter Games.

Competition Highlights:

  • 1959, 1960, 1961 British Ice Dance Champion
  • 1959, 1960, 1961 European Ice Dance Champion
  • 1959 and 1960 World Ice Dance Champion

Coaching Highlights:

After Doreen Denny retired from competitive figure skating, she became a figure skating coach. Some of her students have included:

  • Colleen O'Connor and Jim Millns, 1976 Olympic Ice Dancing Bronze Medalists, World ice dance medalists, and 3-time US Ice Dance Champions
  • Judy Blumberg and Michael Seibert - Doreen Denny coached them when they won the following: 1979 and 1980 US Ice Dancing Silver Medalists, 1980 Olympians, 1981 and 1982 US Ice Dance Champions
  • Rudi and Gerde Johner, 4-time Swiss pair skating champions (1962, 1963, 1964, 1965)

Has Lived and Taught Skating In the USA for Many Years:

Many famous figure skating coaches have lived and taught at the world-famous Broadmoor Skating Club. Doreen Denny was the head of the ice dancing program at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs for many years.
