United States Ice Dance Champions Judy Blumberg and Michael Seibert

U.S. Ice Dancing Champions:

Judy Blumberg and Michael Seibert won the ice dance title at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships five times. They won that title in 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, and 1985.

World Figure Skating Medalists:

The Blumberg-Seibert ice dance team were the 1983, 1984, and 1985 world ice dancing bronze medalists.

Two-Time Olympians:

At the 1980 Winter Olympics, Blumberg and Seibert placed 7th. In 1984, they were expected to win an Olympic medal, but finished 4th.

About Judy Blumberg:

Judy Blumberg was born on September 13, 1957. She grew up in the Los Angeles, California area.

About Michael Seibert:

Michael Seibert was born on January 1, 1960 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Professional Career:

After retiring from competitive figure skating, Judy Blumberg became a figure skating commentator. She also coached skating and became the ensemble director for the Ice Theatre of New York. She skated professionallly with Jim Yorke and with Douglas Webster. She serves as a technical specialist with the ISU Figure Skating Judging System.

Michael Seibert became a successful figure skating choreographer.

World Professional Ice Dance Champons:

In 1988 and 1989, Blumberg and Seibert came together and won the World Cup Ice Dance Championship. In 1988, they became the World Professional Ice Dance Champions.

Honors and Awards:

Michael Seibert is an Emmy Award winner. In 1996, Blumberg and Seibert were inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame.
