2005 U.S. Junior Ladies National Figure Skating Champion:

Sandy Rucker won the 2005 U.S. Junior Ladies Figure Skating title.

Featured in 2006 in "Ice Diaries":

Sandy Rucker was featured in 2006 in a television series called "Ice Diaries." Four skaters who perhaps could make the 2006 Olympics were featured on that show.

"Ice Princess" Skating Stunt Double:

Sandy Rucker did much of the skating for Michelle Trachtenberg in the movie "Ice Princess." To look like the actress, she had her hair colored and had extensions added to her hair. Every day, during the movie shooting, she was covered with make-up that was tinted with Michelle Trachtenberg's skin tone. She also had to mimic the actress's movement and style.

Sandy Rucker enjoyed her experience in "Ice Princess" and has expressed interest in taking part in movies again.

Date and Place of Birth:

Sandra Jean Rucker was born on October 29, 1987 in Palm Springs, California.

Began Skating at a Young Age:

Sandy Rucker began skating when she was four years old at an ice rink in a mall near Palm Springs.

International Competition Experience:

Sandy Rucker won a silver medal at the 2001 North American Challenge Skate competition in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. In 2002, she won the gold at that same competition.

Skating Clubs:

Sandy Rucker represented the Rim of the World Figure Skating Club in Riverside, California. Afer her win at the U.S. National Figure Skating Championships in 2005, she moved to Colorado Springs and represented the Broadmoor Skating Club.

Coaches:

Tammy Gambill was Sandy Rucker's coach until 2004. In 2004, she was coached by Nedda Soltani. In 2005, Sandy Rucker moved to Colorado Springs to train with Tom Zakrajsek.

Back Injury:

Sandy Rucker had a back injury that affected her skating. She did not place in regional events in 2006 or in 2007 due to the injury.

Sandy Rucker After 2006:

After the 2006 and 2007 competition seasons, Sandy Rucker stayed involved in figure skating by coaching young skaters in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
