Guide Review - Colorado Skate Tech and Richard Griffin's Figure Skating Boot and Blade Services

Colorado Skate Tech is owned and operated by Richard Griffin. Rich is a figure skating coach who has serviced the needs of figure skaters in Colorado for over twenty-five years.

Rich began his career as a blade sharpening technician at the famous historical Broadmoor World Arena. There, he became the exclusive skate techician for many figure skaters and ice skating champions. Some skaters became so pleased with his services that that it was common to ship skates directly to Griffin for exclusive service.

Skate Tech is one of the only authorized dealers in Colorado for Harlick figure skates. Rich Griffin prides himself on the personal service he is able to provide to his clients. Custom fittings and suggestions on what is best for each individual skater is provided to each customer. Customers should know in advance that unless a custom order is expedited, the waiting period for a new pair of Harlick boots may be over eight to ten weeks.

Griffin provides complimentary mounting and sharpening services when skaters purhase boots and blades through him. That service is available for the first sharpening only. Further and routine sharpenings are $15.00.

All services are available on an appointment only basis. Customers must call Skate Tech and arrange a place and location for pick up and delivery. "Sharpening while you wait" services are not available, but Griffin tries to get skates back to customers within four hours.

Since Rich Griffin is an ice dance coach, he is especially knowledgeable about the needs of ice dancers. For that reason, some people say that Griffin can only service ice dancers, but evaluations of what any figure skater needs are possible.

Griffin also is an authorized dealer for Paramount blades. Paramount blades are considered by some to be the "blade of the future."
