Once or twice a year, my father would take me to San Francisco especially to get fitted for a pair of Harlick figure skates. My coach insisted that I be fitted for skates by the owner of the Harlick Skate Company, so that was the reason for the quick day trip from Los Angeles. It was exciting to visit San Francisco and ride an old elevator up to Harlick's offices! I found it a treat to see parts of skating boots in the Harlick factory and to see the bootmakers working hard on each pair of skates. The company even had a file with my name on it. Inside were records of my foot measurements and past orders. The personal service from the Harlick staff was something I never would forget.

Harlick Skate Company eventually moved out of "The City" to San Carlos, California. When I visited that location, I was fascinated by the many, many photos displayed of ice and roller skaters who have worn Harlick boots. Many Olympic, World and National Champions wear, and continue to wear, Harlick skating boots. I am proud to be part of Harlick Skate Company's history!
