Midori Ito will compete in the International Adult Figure Skating Competition which will be held in Oberstdorf, Germany in early June, 2011. Ito won the the 1989 World Figure Skating Championships and the 1992 Olympic Figure Skating Silver Medal. She was the first female figure skater to land a triple/triple jump combination and a triple Axel in competition, and she is the first Asian to win a world figure skating title.
This is a great boost for adult figure skating. Ito is now forty-one years old, but I bet she can still do double jumps and great spins "in her sleep!" I wonder if she'll attempt any triples?
