Figure Skater Taryn Horchek Does the Taryn

The "Taryn" is a figure skating move invented by a southern California figure skater named Taryn Horchek. Taryn has had years of ballet training, and took some of what she knew from ballet to the ice.

2007 World Junior Figure Skating Champion, Caroline Zhang is known for her great flexibity. The "Taryn" has become one of her trademark moves.

Still not sure just what a Taryn is!

The confusion of calling acrobatics or contortion moves as ballet is totally wrong. One must go to Cirque due Soleil for such moves and not to the ballet world. The ballet world might even boo such moves. Can you imagine a ballerina using her hands and not her muscles? Never!
