National Solo Dance Championship - A Pilot Figure Skating Event

Today, I attended the first U.S. National Solo Ice Dance Championship. Right now, the competition is in its pilot stages.

There are so many ice dancers in this world without partners. I believe that this event is a great idea, since if there are opportunities to win national medals in solo ice dancing, more skaters will try the discipline. It was great to see ice dancers of all ages taking part in the competition. I hope the program becomes a standard U.S. Figure Skating event!
