What Ever Happened to the Protopopovs?

Monday September 1, 2008
Oleg and Lyudmila Protopopov in 2008
Pair skating legends, Lyudmila Belousova and Oleg Protopopov are now 72 and 76 years old. They spend five months of each year in Lake Placid, New York. Age hasn't stopped the pair from figure skating. They skate everyday and they are honorary members of the Skating Club of Lake Placid. They spend the other part of the year at their home in Switzerland and they vacation in Hawaii. Also, once a year, they perform at Harvard in "An Evening With Champions."

When I was visiting Lake Placid this summer, I saw them in action. They can still do athletic overhead lifts! I heard that they eat only healthy foods and walk or bike wherever they go!
