78 RPM Records Were Once Used for Figure Skating Music

In the past, figure skating music was played on 78 rpm vinyl records. And...once in awhile a skater's music would skip during a competition! Then, cassette tapes came along.

Today, most figure skating music is played on CDs or on iPods. There are many services that professionally cut music for skaters and certain pieces of music are very popular among figure skaters.
