Review of Jackson Softec Figure Skates
Does the excuse "I have weak ankles" or "figure skates hurt my feet" stop you from enjoying ice skating? Does the expense of a good figure skating boot keep you away?
There is now a solution for you! New recreational figure skates for entry level skaters have been introduced in recent years. Now, figure skates don't have to hurt and those who want to enjoy ice skating can skate for hours in these comfortable skates.
I have tried these skates myself. I am not one to try to skate in ice rink rentals, but I tried a pair that a rink had for rent to test them out and I had a blast. They felt a lot like my ice hockey skates (in another post, I'll share how I can do figure skating moves and ice dances in ice hockey skates!), but they gave me the control of figure skates since they include a figure skate blade.
Also, they have just the right support, so the excuse of "weak ankles" is not an issue and even a very inexperienced person will find that they can skate on these skates.
Jackson Skate Company manufactures Softec Figure Skates, but other skate companies make similar types of boot and blade combinations.

I love mine and have had them for several years! I got the elites for more warmth if I would skate outside in Fairbanks, AK. Worked wonderfully.
I saw a professional coach use these at a training seminar. She said they were very warm and you could swap out the blade for your own (but she didn’t). She did doubles on it. I thought they looked very warm and comfy and thought about getting a pair for my recreational skating.
