Too Old to Compete in Ice Dancing?

Tuesday August 22, 2006

An eighteen year old recently asked if she was too old to be a competitive singles figure skater.

Now, she wonders if perhaps she can compete in ice dancing?

"I understand that if I begin figure skating at age eighteen, that I cannot expect to make it to the Olympics or to top competitions in singles, but what about in ice dancing?"

I've put together information for this young person on the steps involved in becoming an ice dancer. With hard work and perseverance a teen can begin figure skating a bit later in life than a single skater and possibly compete at the top level in ice dancing.
