A Scratch Spin

All figure skaters love to spin.

The first spin to learn is a two foot upright spin. As soon as skaters can spin on one foot, everyone just loves doing scratch spins.

Sometimes when I teach my students upright spins, I tell them to first try a sit spin and then "chicken out!" All of a sudden, my skaters find themselves doing great upright spins.

Layback spins look scary, but are actually rather easy. Spinning with your head upside down is thrilling!

My favorite spin is a sit spin.

What is your favorite spin?
